New Video - Car Theft

Always take your keys out of the ignition when something unexpected happens.

Variations of this include someone bumping into the back of your car at traffic lights, you get out to talk to the other driver, someone jumps in your car and shoots off, then the driver that bumped you shoots off as well, leaving you stood there with too many things going on in your head to remember faces, registration plates of even car type.

Fit an alarm with an Anti-Hijack Feature or follow a strict 'where you go, your keys go' policy.

TAURID METEOR SHOWER

TAURID METEOR SHOWER:

The annual Taurid meteor shower is under way and it could be a good show. 2008 is a "swarm year" for the Taurids.

Between Nov. 5th and 12th, Earth is due to pass through an unusually dense swarm of gritty debris from parent comet 2P/Encke. When a similar encounter happened in 2005, sky watchers observed a slow drizzle of midnight fireballs for nearly two weeks.

Whether 2008 will be as good as 2005, however, remains to be seen. In 2005, the swarm encounter was more central; Earth passed through the middle of the cloud. In 2008, forecasters believe we are closer to the outskirts. How much this will affect the shower, no one knows.

The best time to look is during the hours around midnight when the constellation Taurus is high in the sky.

Sniff Petrol - Those new FIA-F1 rules in full

fianewlogo.jpg

Following unfortunate misunderstandings in the Grands Prix at Valencia and Spa, the FIA has revised the Red Car Rule for Formula 1. These amendments will be applied with immediate effect:
  1. Overtaking a Ferrari is not permitted under any circumstances.
  2. In the pit lane, a Ferrari always has precedence over other cars.
  3. Any driver finishing less than 25 seconds ahead of a Ferrari will be penalized 25 seconds.* If neither Ferrari finishes in first place, the stewards reserve the right to declare the result null and void (or to adjust it as necessary).
  4. Only Ferrari drivers are permitted to use anything other than ‘designated’ parts of a circuit.
  5. If forced off the ‘designated’ part of the track by a Ferrari, the guilty driver should immediately crash his car and return to the pits.
  6. Any driver or team appealing against any FIA decision in favour of Ferrari may be subject to a fine and/or the deduction of points.
*Subject to post-race adjustment by the stewards.

Festival News - Glade 2008 nominated for Awards

It seems that our so called summer really has come to an end. It is now time for us to get excited about next year and get you to pat us on our backs for what happened in 2008... There is a thing called the 'UK Festival Awards' in which we are nominated in 6 categories. Please vote for us today!

The Categories are Best Medium Sized Festival, Best Dance Festival, Best line-up, Best Toilets, Grass Roots Festival Award and Innovation Award.

All you have to do is go to this site - http://www.festivalawards.com (Vote for Glade 2008 page)

A word about next year... Well we've been reviewing this years event and have decided to get back to a more grass roots free party vibe and we can say now there's gonna be some pretty radical changes. A move away from big tents with more open air venues, more randomness, wrongness and loveliness, kicking late night tented vibes, longer sets from quality purveyors, more art and participation and loads of other stuff besides. We will announce the date soon...

But that's enough about next year for now - what this post is really about is Glade Festival 2008 and the UK Festival awards - if you could take 2 minutes and give us a big up that would be wicked !

So thanks for the love and support...

Bring on Glade 2009

Cult magazine FOUND brings its rowdy roadshow to Arnolfini for an evening of voyeuristic fun. Expect tongue-in-cheek readings from the magazine and songs based on found notes, pictures and objects, and hope and pray that embarrassing photograph got sent to the shredder… The tour also coincides with the first Found book publication, which will be available from Arnolfini bookshop. www.foundmagazine.com
